If you are big into wood bat brands, and the pros that use them, you’ll find that Mizuno wood bats have been around for longer than most. They graced the hands of Pete Rose and Ichiro Suzuki. Today, Mizuno produces a number of great wood and bamboo options that we cover in this Mizuno Wood Bat Review.

Mizuno Wood Bat Reviews

It might be surprising to many to learn that Mizuno makes as many wood bats as any. In fact, they might be the best selling wood bat company on the market. Although they lack the MLB play other major vendors dominate (Marucci, Slugger), Mizuno makes great wood bats for every type of player at price points more parents are willing to pay.

We break down our Mizuno wood bat reviews into their three major categories below: Adult, Youth, Bamboo

Expect a legitimate maple bat from Mizuno when you are in the market for a well priced full maple stick. These are rock hard maple billets shaved down into the most common turns. You can find a traditional light swinging 110 model as well as a medium barrel 271 and a big hitting 243.

If it gives you any more confidence to pull the trigger, do note that Ian Desmond and several other MLB players swing a Mizuno bat. Pete Rose was a huge Mizuno fan and swung them almost exclusively by the end of his career. Ichiro also swung these same Mizuno bats.

It is possible Mizuno’s best wood bat section is in the Bamboo Wood space. Bamboo, although technically a grass, has become a very popular wood option for players that need some durability and at least a little bit of give at contact. Mizuno makes a few very popular Bamboo bats and may actually sell more bamboo bats then the company that first did it, BamBooBats.

Mizuno Youth Wood Bat Reviews

Mizuno wood Bat REview

Mizuno also makes a youth wood bat in a true hard rock maple. Expect a full wood bat feel like the pros use with this little stick. They try and cup the end cap to make it weight a little less. This generally has the right effect.

The 28-inch version feels a little bit like a toothpick so try and size up if you can. But, in terms of great feel and a real maple bat for a youth player this is a great pick up.  The fact you can usually find it for less than $50 is amazing.

Who Swings Mizuno?

In years gone by, you can find a Mizuno bat in the hands of guys like Pete Rose and Ichiro Suzuki. Considering both of those are two of the greatest hitters the game has seen might be saying something. And, for the record, Pete Rose is not one of the greatest hitters, he is THE greatest hitter of all time.
