The 2022 Rawlings VELO ACP in USA is a very light swinging single piece alloy bat with an average sized barrel and okay ratings. Very few think it is their first choice. But, those that end up using can do well if they need a light swing and need a light swing.

The 2022 Solo also comes in a JBB or Junior Big Barrel version. In effect, this bat is made for coach pitch leagues in ages from 5 to 8. The bat is not rated for higher pitch speeds, which is why it is less expensive than the drop USSSA version of the bat. It could also work perfectly fine for that new t ball player just getting a feel for the game. Full Review

The Drop 10 Solo is our highest-rated USSSA SOLO bat mainly due to its versatility. The bat comes in a huge range of sizes (26 through 31) and with a light swing weight and has a fit for basically any 7 through 11-year-old. The bat also performs admirably. Granted, most serious players like the feel of more expensive two-piece composites and, as such, tend to swing harder and with a bit more consistency. But, the right hitter---especially that entry-level comp and travel player looking for as much bat speed as possible that also doesn't want to break the bank. Full Review

The 2021 Louisville Slugger Solo USSSA Drop 10 swings light, has a great barrel profile, and hits the ball about as well as any USSSA bat we tested. Our smaller hitters don't prefer single piece bats---instead, they like two-piece bats with a little more give in the connection and less ring on the hands. But, the hitter looking for a legit entry-level performance bat in the USSSA space, needs as much bat speed help as possible, and is good with some hand ring now and then will hit the ball as well with the Solo drop 10 as they could any bat. The 2021 DeMarini Voodoo One USA Bat is new to DeMarini. DeMarini bailed on the USSSA model line in favor of The Goods One Piece. But, for USA, they have this single-piece aluminum bat with a focus on a light swing and a more reasonable price point. Full Review

The 2020 DeMarini Voodoo One in a drop 10 USSSA is a single-piece aluminum bat with a good-sized 2 3/4 barrel. It swings light and competes with bats like the VELO and Omaha from Slugger as well as a the single piece Easton Fuze. The bat gets decent ratings, Full Review

The 2019 DeMarini Voodoo One is a single-piece aluminum bat built with a moderately sized barrel and a balanced swing. This is a no-frills bat. Meaning, there isn't anything terribly special other than its brand name and more reasonable price point. It can hit the ball hard in the right hands. Full Review

The 2019 is DeMarini's second Voodoo One USA Bat. It takes after its other model lines in that it's a single piece aluminum with a balanced swing and a moderate to small-sized barrel. For its price, it is a great entry-level USA bat for the hitter who needs as much bat speed as possible and doesn't see the pitch speeds that might hurt hands if mishit. The 2018 Demarini Voodoo one is a balanced single-piece bat with a 2 3/4 reasonably sized barrel. It swings about as heavy as other drop 10 USSSA bats, does hurt your hands on mishits, but also has a stiff feel for those who really square one up. The bat has not changed much over the years and serves that entry-level performance bat space. Compared to older and newer versions of this model, the 2018 DeMarini Voodoo One is as good as any. 2018 was the first year of USA bats and this is DeMarini's first run on the single-piece Voodoo One. It's a very small barrel profile on a single piece alloy bat. This bat didn't get fantastic ratings as few players liked the small sweet spot and wring on the mishits. The 2017 DeMarini Voodoo One USSSA drop 10 is a 2 3/4 barrel built with a balanced swing and a stiff single piece alloy. The bat is comparable to others in its class, like the Rawlings VELO and Slugger Omaha. The USSSA Voodoo One is an entry-level performance bat in exit speeds versus bats two times its price. However, the bat's feel isn't what most kids hope for---especially if you see fastpitch speed. The stiff single piece aluminum will wring the hands in the event you mishit. Full Review
