The CAT USA was a hit in its first release, often gracing the top of the best-sellers charts. We think this new 2024 CAT X USA and 2024 CAT X Vanta will do just the same. It now has a gel knob and some upgraded alloy like the CAT X. So, if you liked the last iteration of the CAT X and have an extra $20 to forget about, you will like the new one.
Generally, the CAT X (Vanta) is a single-piece bat with a light swing, slim barrel (in USA), and a single-piece alloy. In BBCOR, the CAT X is a favorite among NCAA teams and often graces our list of best bats. If it's within your budget range, it's recommendable across the board. In USSSA, the bat is a big barrel, light swing that is well known at ball parks across America--likely the most popular single-piece alloy in USSSA.
Compared to the 2023 Marucci CAT X, the 2024 BBCOR and USA versions (if any) are expected to be no different other than the paint job. We don't expect the price to be different either. In USA, the bat got all the fixings that made the CAT X a hit, including a gel knob and a newer alloy.
The CATX bat features a finely tuned barrel profile for a wider sweet spot and increased performance. Its balanced design allows for faster swings, while the liquid-gel dampening knob reduces vibrations for a solid feel. Constructed with AZR Aluminum and a one-piece alloy, it offers durability, forgiveness, and improved bat control.
